Triton T90SR issue

    Hi,

I've got a Triton T90SR, and having a problem with it. At cool temperatures, the shower works fine, plenty of pressure etc, but when tou move the dial up, to say 80% of it's potential hottest temperature, the shower starts to make a sort of chugging noise at half second intervals and the water that it expels is chugging to the same rhythm.

Any ideas? Shower is about 6 months old and is used bout 5 or 6 times a week

    Thanks

Did you have to turn it up to "80%" to maintain your normal showering temperature?.

During the hotter months, when the storage water was warmer I was getting a nice temperature when the dial was at about 60%. Only now it's gone colder I have to up the heat input and that's when I noticed this issue

I haven't come across this issue but I'd guess either a slight airlock or a faulty pump/motor. If it is a faulty pump/motor it'll be the first one I have come across in the 3 plus years this model has been in existence.

Thanks for reply. Would it be strange that the airlock only comes into play when the temp is increased? As it runs great when on a cooler setting.

Yes, one might think that with a pump/air problem that one would be turning the control the other way (towards cool) to try and maintain the flow/temp.
It might be no harm to do the famous jug test to rule out any heating can(s) fault, you should expect a minimum of 3.5 LPM even with a tank temp of say 8C, if the flow is < 3 LPM then it would point to a heating element/micro switch problem.

Just let the shower head on and run it into a jug/dish/basin for exactly one minute and then measure it into a 1 litre milk bottle or whatever you have handy.
