I recently applied for a personal loan top up and got declined and it was only going up by 8 euro a week which I could afford and it was been took from my wages weekly so don't know why I would be declined

you would need to speak to the bank about this

they obviously have a reason for declining

OP might check with the Irish Credit Bureau for a credit report in case someone has filed erroneous information against their name.
