I just realised that I lost my gen 1 Chromecast. Looking at potential replacement dongles, is there anything among the Chromecast alternatives that can fulfill the same functionality, especially the ability to cast a single chrome tab?

Also, I found a workaround that allowed me to control my Chromecast from my phone, while connected to my phone's hotspot. Very handy for hotel stays. If one has that functionality or similar, I'd appreciate the tip.
