Riello 40 - bleeding the thing

Had one of these for many years and easy to bleed after running dry. This time I have bled the main bleed on the front via the bolt and oil runs. No start.
Then loosened the rear oil line on the pump outlet and the oil spurted out and the boiler fired up with pressure on both sides of the pump so closed this nut and the front bolt and it ran fine for about 15 minutes then shut down.
When I tried to do the same bleed procedure no oil came from the outlet line but was still at the bleed bolt and the flexi feed line. Tried several times before ESB cut the power for the day. Tried again tonight but no joy it just whirrs and buzzes then locks out.
Any ideas how to bleed the whole line again to the burner?
