    The capacitor may be the issue. If a replacement is cheap it is worth a try. Last time a single phase motor failed on me (shower pump) it was the capacitor.

    I should also say that stalled motors get hot. When stalled the starting current does not reduce as it normally would.

    replaced the capacitor. Works perfect again. Thanks.
