This. I wouldn’t take fluorescent if I got them for free.

Stick an led flood at each end of shed (inside) good job. Got a load of em of screwfix. Big 50w LEDs floods less than €30, similar in electrical factors over €60. Find screwfix good for stuff like that especially the waterproof switches outside the shed
Also put up a small 10w flood in the sheds as night light for cattle, cost about €12 and will be running on buttons. 100 hrs would be less that 20 cent.

Just looking in my own shed now i have 4 fluorescents and the light off of them is crap, 1 bulb gone in two of them, is it worth while to replace bulbs with led version? think they need a different type of starter in them is that right?
Or just take out old ones and replace all with new LEDS? old fluorescents are in 25 years so they owe me nothing at this stage.

Anyone know what sort of price they are? Thanks.

Put up the new flood lights and even left the old tube fittings up but disconnected. Wasn't even worth the hassle of pulling them down.
Super light out of them. 2 floods would light up any cattle shed bar Larry Goodman's

I have a flood light in a round roof with cubicles in it, wouldnt be mad about it. Hard to see cows properly at opposite end of the shed without a torch when you're checking them at night to see if one might be calving.
It leaves a shadow where as the strip lights shine directly down

Yeah I have the same set up and same problem, you're either blinded or in a shadow. OP Check out 'Feirme lights' on google, LED tubes, instant light up. Have them in 3 years and never a problem. Like daytime in the shed.

I replaced fluorescents in the shed recently. They were 5' long, and I replaced them with 5' long LED strip lights, which were a simple direct replacement. I got the double strip lights, which is two lines of LEDs within the light. The price on the docket is €38 + VAT each....

Looking at lights for my new shed. They will be led. Shed is 10 bay. How many lights? Also how many switches, one switch for all, is that doable?

All depends on the size of the shed.
I’d give thought to two switches. One for one row of lights for normal time, a second switch for extra lights.
Or at least that was the old thinking. With leds being so cheap to run maybe you’re better with one switch.

There was 2 of the electricians there today. One was saying a switch for each light. I knocked that on the head. Would prefer to just hit one switch and all the lights are on

You’re on the right track. It’s no big problem, lights on, lights off. One switch, will be marginally cheaper than many switches.
What was their reason for a switch for each light?

I dont know. He was saying they would have to wire each light anyway ... will probably go with one switch for each side

Will you have one each end? 10 bays is a long way to walk!
