Warped door

    Hi

I have moved into a house with a back door that's very draughty. It seems to be pvc , no more than 12 years old (manufacture date stamped in inside of frame) and made by a well known joinery company in the south.
It seems to be warped as there is a 3-4mm gap between the door and frame when its closed. That gap can be reduced by pushing with a lot of force but obviously the gap reopens once pressure is taken off.

The top and bottom seal ok, it's just the mid section near the handle that is the problem.
Also the stay for the normal latch is broken so the only way to keep door closed is to push the handle upwards to engage the locking lugs.

Can anything be done or do I need to buy a new door?

    Get draught strips for now.

See can you adjust where the lock catches as these move over time on some, others are just never fitted right.
It's at end of life to be honest as most are usually given around 10 to maybe 15 years....

A good door repair specialist can fix that.
Had to get mine done as it was off and had a gap in it.

put a staight edge against the door and frame to see if either are not straight

if both are straight then its all in the adjustment of the door
