I took this 132 focus for a test drive today, all seemed fine but when I pulled into forecourt after 5-10 mn spin there was still white smoke coming from exhaust. Looked the car up in carzone and noticed the pics show fluid pooling under the exhaust. I'm assuming these are warning signs?

I was just about to condescendingly lecture you about condensation and how normal that is...and then I opened the picture.

That doesn't look like no condensation I've ever seen, that's oil :D

    yep...warning sign it is

I dont think I'd be too worried. If it's on the forecourt a while and only started up and left idle to charge the battery and taken on the odd 15 minute test drive, there will be a lot of condensation in there. This condensation will only start to go away after a few good long hot journeys, an hour or two on the motorway maybe.

It looks dark in the photo but the photo is low quality and if there was that much oil coming out the exhaust, you'd easily spot it in the running and driving of the car and the sump would be empty in 15 mins :pac:

If there's any doubt walk away.

I didn't notice any oil when I spotted the car first. I don't think the car has been sitting for weeks on the forecourt either. It wasn't up on carzone earlier this week as far as I know, have been looking. This is the pic Limerick motor centre have up on carzone though, would be surprised if they would advertise with such a fault?

I think they're supposed to be pretty unreliable, regardless of the condensation. Dont they give trouble with cylinder heads cracking or something like that?

From talking to a few lads working in Ford I thinking it was a plastic coolent pipe getting to hot and bursting
