    Hi,

    I have an 90's set of Pioneer A400/Rotel RCD-965BX/Mission 760i.

The Amp was out of commission for a while with a popped capacitor but I had that repaired.

I believe the Amp is still a solid performer and that I would be hard pushed to find a good replacement under EU500 (or maybe even EU1000 ?).

The speakers are OK...but I fear they may be showing their age....what would you recommend in terms of upgrade/replacement ?

The Rotel CD player is fine. I added an Arcam blink to facilitate streaming from laptop/phone but find oit sounds a bit flat - OK for incidental music...but not for serious listening. I currently still have most musinc on CD or I-tunes but would like to go to mass storage or streaming solution....what would you advise ?

    Thanks in advance !

    Hi fulanoquetal,

If you're looking for a good set of speakers to replace the Mission 760i I would highly recommend the new Fyne Audio speakers. If you're looking for a set of bookshelf speakers I would go for the Fyne F500 speakers which are currently £599/ 699 euro. If you are looking for a set of floorstanders you can't get much better than the Fyne F501 speakers at £1199/ 1399 euro.

If you're looking to stream music you could look at a network streamer that will take music from a network connected storage device. One of the best I've heard is the Cambridge CXN. I have one of the older versions available at £699 however it has just been replaced by the current series in lunar grey which is £799.

Let me know what you think of these options!

    Kind regards

    David
