    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a 50/55 inch @ 1k budget (happy with sterling or euro, whichever offers more value).
    Can you help please?

Apart from screen size is there any major difference between Sony kd49xg9005bu and Sony KD55XF9005?

Or would you recommend something else?

    Thanks

Hi the kd55xf9005 is the slightly older model of the two, and because of this it represents very good value for money, although stock is very limited.  It lacks the Dolby Vision HDR format of the XG range, but still has HDR10 and HLG.

    Thanks for the reply Stephen.
Is it possible to replace the stand on those Sonys? The legs are a little wide for my tv unit, and would protrude by about 2cm on both sides? A more Central or pedestal stand would be great.

Hi you could replace it with a universal pedestal base  https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202379-sanus-vtvs1-b2-universal-desk-stand.aspx .

Thanks Stephen, it would also be resolved if I could stretch to a Sony KD55AG8!

    Hi seant5215,

The Sony KD55AG8 is a fantastic price at the moment! £1299 with a 6 year guarantee which is a bargain for that Sony!

We also have our Black Friday Price Promise so in the unlikely event it drops further on Black Friday simply let us know and we will refund the difference.

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David
