AL (T2) Connection LHR from HNG (T3) (Seperate tickets)

    Hi Folks,

My TA agent couldn't get my flights under 1 ticket.
    Outbound - DUB -> HNG -> PNG
Return PNG -> HNG -> (LHR -> DUB)

The (LHR-> DUB) flight is a separate AL ticket, the rest is Cathay PAcific

My TA, "Cathay Pacific might not check you through to Dublin on the way back and if we do that you’d have to collect your check-in bag in Heathrow and take it to the Aer Lingus baggage drop desk in Terminal 2 (your Cathay flight arrives into Terminal 3 ) … also in the event that there was a delay in the arrival time of your flight from Hong Kong neither Cathay Pacific nor Aer Lingus would accept any responsibility for a missed connection"

So my question is this definitively a no hoper? According to below calculations, there's no way I can do this with checked baggage? I have to carry on only.
    LHR T3 Arrive 20:15
    -45min Bag drop 20:20
    -25min Boarding 20:40
    LHR T2 Depart 22:05

    Thanks,
    LK.

It takes about 30 minutes to transfer. All going well another 15 minutes at security. Another 15 to get to the gate. So all going well you have 1 hour to spare to even make your flight.

It's very big risk as the whole trip is cancelled if your first leg is late getting to LHR.

You should be alright. I reckon you'd be back through security at T2 1hr after touching down on your first flight. T2 and T3 are next to each other (use the tunnel that brings you past the Underground station)

You can almost certain there'll be no queue at Aer Lingus desk and next to no queue at T2 security at that time either.

It does of course rely on your first leg landing on time!

Cathay and Aer Lingus have an interline agreement for baggage but increasingly these are being restricted to single ticket instances, even within airline alliances which CX and EI don’t have.

T3 and T2 are adjacent and the walkway between them is also used for tube and Heathrow Express. If your bag is not through checked you will have to clear immigration, collect bags, walk to T2 and then recheck your bag.

If it is through checked you can use the airside bus but you will still have to do full
    Immigration at Heathrow.
