Cold tap possible airlock unvented system with cold and hot water pump

Hi. I have simple hot water system with water tank in the attic and added 2 way pump. Both cold and hot water taps stopped to work (mixer tap) only in upstairs bathroom (cold a while ago and hot recently). I know the garden hose method forcing an airlock using mains cold water which worked for hot tap but didn't for cold.…

I know the garden hose method forcing an airlock using mains cold water which worked for hot tap but didn't for cold. Should i be forcing an airlock with pump turned off or on or should I use different method due to use of a water pump? I only thought that after trying that forcing water back to the cylinder (hot) or tank (cold) through the plump may damage it?
