I have a few big bags of fertiliser still left and I have no room in the shed for them. I was thinkinhg of just putting a tarpaulin cover over them and a rachet strap around the side holding the cover too.
    Would this be OK?

The merchant has them outside too!

    Ah no that makes sense.

The original plastic cover is gone off it. It was the white material that the bag is made of, that I was worried about. Does it not deteriorate in UV light?

Better off covering it as the plastic around the fert can perforate as well and let water in. If letting it uncovered, you'd want to be spreading as early as possible next spring as the bottom can get hard from absorbing water as well.

Probably a good idea to store them on pallets or something too, to prevent the bottom of the bags getting damp...
