I had to re scan our TV to recover satellite channels that had been lost and I'm having to re order the channels so I'm hoping to arrange them by type now.

I've the BBCs, ITVs, 4, more4 and the #5 channels arranged. Of what's left I'd like to arrange them by type, all the childrens one after another, all the drama channels one after another etc.

My problem is I don't know what every channel is so I have to Google each one and the TV found 422 of them!

I have tried googling this but I only seem to get Wikipedia and websites that list the available channels which is no help, does anyone know of a website that sorts the channels by genre or even (chancing my arm here I know! )a word/excel document that has this info

Some LG tv's can be set up in Freesat mode, in which case channels are listed as entertainment, news, film, kids. To set up in Freesat mode enter location as UK, enter a post code, I use sw72ap, on my freesat box.
You don't get 420+channels but you get the main one, C4 is in sd not HD.

If your TV has freesat (you'll need to change region to UK first) then I'd use that. If not, you can use this app: https://github.com/PredatH0r/ChanSort (I used this, my LG is slightly older than the ones that came with freesat).

You can use the Freesat website (https://www.freesat.co.uk/tv-guide/) or wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free-to-air_channels_at_28%C2%B0E#Channel_sections) to get a list of what you're looking for.
