Building work, hours

A house near me is undergoing building work, in a Cork city residential area.They start some mornings before 8 am, and frequently before 9 am. Are they legally allowed to begin loud building work at these hours?

Construction site work starting early in morning or continuing late into the evening:

The permissible hours of operation of a building site within Dublin City are;

Monday to Friday 07.00 – 18.00

Saturday 08.00 – 14.00

Sundays and Public Holidays No noisy work on site.

Check the Grant of Planning for the working times, but generally they can start at 7am.

They wont agree to it now. The builders need to get in early so they can get out before the darker afternoons and evenings. They need to be started by 8am at the latest.

Why should they start later? They can start from 7am, which isn't exactly a crazy hour to be up. OP will be laughed at if he asks this.

OP buy good ear plugs. The building works will end eventually.

Most building sites start at 7 or 7:30. 8 is absolutely fine.
