Rebuild costs for home insurance

Apologies if this isn't the right place to be asking this but renewal due and not sure if we need to increase the amounts. A few years ago we did an extension and found then that the recommendation of the Society of Chartered Surveyors (currently up to €159 per square foot for our house type/location) was WAY off for what it cost for the square footage of the extension. I know a whole house has some economy of scale but costs for any sort of trade seems to have gone up so much in the last couple of years. Anyone any advise on accurately calculating how much cover is actually needed? Thanks!
