Trouble registering a few classics

    Complicated story...

A relative imported a handful of classics from the UK back around '05/ '06 and due to a slew of misfortunes and tragedies, the bikes were effectively abandoned in various states of disrepair and restoration. Only recently has he had the ability to resume the preservation and repair of these bikes, which he has now started to do.

Anyhoo, the bike he's just finished rebuilding is an '81 RD250LC. He's had it since '05/ '06, he lost the original paperwork and records. We think he found them through eBay so we're probably going to see if eBay can help in providing proof of purchase and so on. He was able to obtain a certificate of permanent export dated something like "01/01/2005" earlier this year but this is all he was able to get.

Any tips of getting this bike, and several others registered? I'm pretty ignorant about the process these days, least of all when there is lost records.
