Oil burner on last legs

We've a 20yr old indoor firebird oil boiler and starting to give some trouble - sooner or later we're going to need to replace it. Given all the talk re. fossil fuels are there viable alternatives when it comes to replacement ? - note house is 20 yrs old also - standard dormer bungalow type. If going for another oil burner…
