TRV failure

What's the normal failure mode for TRVs?

Is the thermostat normally the problem or are the actual valves prone to failure?

    What brands/models do you recommend?

The main issue with them is that the pin can stick on the closed position if left closed for months on end. This is easily fixed though. I haven't done rads in decades so I'm not familiar with the latest brands. Danfoss have always been the best imo. I'd stay away from the 5 to 10 euro price bracket unless you are lu e to see a good brand at this price.
