have heating but no hot water???

    Hi all,

    As above, no hot water in tank when heating is on, I'm baffled?
    20 year old standard semi d.

    Kero oil boiler, single zone heating / hot water

    Heating works perfectly and up to now, when heating was on, tank would also heat up.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Did someone accidentally close the balance valve on the hot water cylinder? (if so open 1.5 turns from closed)

    Or does you system have motorised valves? if so has the DHW valve failed.

    No valves, bog standard system, YouTube to the rescue. Ball cock valve was stuck on the expansion tank after the summer, so water level to the cylinder had dropped in level.
    Explaining why the rads were still working.

    Tested and working ok again
