Paying tax by credit card?

Quick question. I tried googling this but got conflicting results & when I called revenue to find out. Lines were busy & it cut me off.

If I pay preliminary taxes by cc, do I pay a premium on top of that as a credit card charge or just the amount I’m specifying?

Have the cash there to do it, but if I pay that cash off my cc it will zero out the card this month resulting in no interest charges. Then put the tax on the card and pay that off next month.

On the revenue site it says they absorb the charge, however I recall being charged about 2% some years ago. Another page states they charge 1.5% to cover processing costs.

    Would appreciate any clarification.

I paid earlier today on a visa credit card with no commission.
