    Hi Folks

looking for some advice on this. I think the pump for the shower is gone. Before getting a plumper I thought I would replace the fuse in case that is the issue. Do you have to turn of the power at the central fuse box before replace the fuse in the cubbyhole?

And if so would 'Immer group' be the correct one?

By the way does anyone know what R.C.D stands for?
    Thanks.

Immersion group I'd say is the one yes.

Rcd protection is a requirement for all socket groupings.

You'd also have rcd protection on a shower too.

As of 2016 it's required on lighting circuits. So if you were getting future electric work they'd have to upgrade your lighting circuit to include.

It's not the fuse , guarantee that. They are great pumps but when they die they die big time.

They can be repaired but generally it's cheaper to get a new one.

OP, no need to kill the power to change the fuse, just stick flat head screwdriver into the notch and it will prise out.

Thanks for the replies folks. Sorry for the delay in replying. It wasn't the pump at all. The stop cock in the attic was stuck closed. The tap and toilet flush stopped so I knew it wasn't the pump. All sorted now.
