I can heartily recommend the Foxford Ramblers. As an ex member myself, they are a really proactive and friendly bunch who go out of their way to make new members feel welcome. They have a varied and interesting selection of hikes and rambles so there is something to suit all fitness levels.
They usually meet on Sunday mornings at the Foxford Sports and Leisure Centre (beside the Woolen Mills), and newcomers are welcome to try a walk for about €5 with no pressure to join.
