    Current teacher of 21 years.
Suffer from Colitus which is becoming more debilitating.
Journey of 1 hr ew to work.
Unable to function to the level I should do in work as am often v tired and rely on monthly drug treatment to keep condition in check.
Have Avc's built up of approx 80k in value.

Does anybody know what are the stipulations around early retirement due to ill health?
    What are the steps involved?
Where would I stand in terms of pension entitlements.
    Any advice greatly received.

First off, very sorry to hear of your condition, the added stress can’t be helping!

Anyhow, in so far as I’m aware, Medmark would be heavily involved as would your consultant. It would need to be agreed by all parties that you were unable to continue. Unfortunately I’m not that well up on the particulars of the pension arrangements etc.

    Best of luck!

    From the asti website:
In calculating the pension and lump sum, the actual pensionable service of a teacher retiring on disability pension may be increased by an amount of added service which will not normally exceed 62/3 years.
