Heating Zones with boiler replacement

    Hi all,

We're replacing our boiler but we're trying to figure out if it's worth spending and extra EUR2k upgrading our plumbing to accommodate split zones so we can put in heating controls and zoned heating.

At the moment we have shared hot water/ radiator source so according to the guy we had out recently to price the job we need some replumbing done to accommodate this. Unfortunately doing that isn't too easy it would either mean pulling up tiles in the kitchen or moving the boiler... hence the cost.

Anyway, if the heating controls will save close to 20% (SEAI website claim) then we'd consider it but I'm really looking for some reassurance that we'll save that much or any additional information / experience anyone has on this?

    Thanks!

Have a look at Honeywell Evohome, this will give you zones and you won't have to repipe the system. It isn't cheap but should be cheaper than 2k installed I would guess. Anything to save disruption is worth it.

Just for good quality thermostatic valves on all the rads. Better off and cheaper
