    This comment is interesting
"The investments have been written off, we earn money with every i3."

As he said, no reason to cancel it if its profitable, which is rare in the EV world!

I'd say the Leaf is the only other profitable EV at this point.

Teslas are all profitable. Tesla as a company is not (or barely), but that's a completely different issue and not uncommon in a company expanding that quickly.

But yeah, I've said it before, the current long range i3 for €36k in Ireland is pretty decent value for money. I was surprised they announced the end of production. As long as BMW still don't have any other EVs for sale anyway

It's a shame they couldn't modify it slightly and make the boot deeper since they don't have the range extender anymore anyways :(

They do still have the REx in the USA in the current model.

Who knows, but as a family of 4 with 2 small Children we have no problem going away for weekends etc, I even managed to drop the Outlaws back to the airport with all the luggage so it's not as bad as People think.

It’s great news but from the sounds of it its only getting a battery upgrade and not much other development which is a shame.

The active cruise I am finding now we are moving into winter is shoite, its hardly working at all either the low sun, rain or light mist/fog all prevents it from working so it desperately needs radar. The active driving features are now dated and need a refresh to bring it up to at least Nissan Pro-Pilot standards.

Always liked the i3, but the fact that its a 4 seater rules it out for me.

If they did a 5 seat version ......

Like what they did with the Mini, a I3 Countryman.....Imagine that abomination.

The I3 is great for a family of 4 once the kids are out of pushchairs, we have adapted to the car really well.

There's no battery upgrade for 2020 because several times this year they couldn't make their minds up what they were going to do with it.

Might be a battery upgrade for 2021 but no rumours yet suggest there's nothing for 2020.

Shame really, a power upgrade , DC charging power upgrade and of course battery upgrade would make all the difference.

The active cruise is uses a camera system if I remember correctly and not good compared to Radar, there is a video of the i3 having a crash in the U.S , it warned the driver but she did not react in time and swerved to the next lane and got hit by a truck. Stupid thing to do. But anyway, it was dry and sunny if I remember correctly.

I think I actually posted the video on Boards.
