    From the clips below, just to listen to you can instantly tell that it's someone over 50. Something has happened to his voice, but I really like it. It's debatable as to whether it's good or not, but it's got so much resonance.

    I know it's now more damaged than since the early noughties, but up until then it was sounding damn fine.

    His voice changed in January 1987, as a result of throat surgery to remove nodules. He developed a deeper timbre as a result.
