Incidents in Mervue and Salthill

There is a heavy Garda presence right now in Salthill and Mervue. The Armed response unit is in Salthill with people saying they saw someone with a gun. Mervue is reportedly a case of an abduction. :eek:

It's possible both are connected.

Someone may have been stabbed in a house i understand. Unconfirmed.

Was speaking to a Garda in Mervue earlier when we were out for a walk. They were looking for a blue van with UK reg which was seen driving erratically. They had closed off one entrance to one of the Mervue avenues but it was accessible from the other side.

Indeed. My actual information from a Garda was very boring in comparison to the two rumours.

The Gardai may issue an official statement in due course when all the facts have been gathered. I understand norhing has been confirmed.

Until then I wouldn't give credence to what anyone says - no matter what the source.

Hopefully no-one hs been hurt.

Garda car and driveway taped off at the house in Mervue where I spoke to the Garda yesterday, as of this morning at 9am.

What I heard ..... 2 lads walking up in Mervue .
One owed people money .
They came across the 2 .
One of the 2 was stabbed.
The one that didn't owe the money was taken away and beaten and returned to other lad .
The gardai must have come across the vehicle in salthill that he was taken away in.
