    Hi guys,

    Quick question.

My mam has a Toyota Starlet 1999 with 209k km’s on the clock.

    1.3ltr petrol.

She’s considering selling it and I’m just wondering approx what it’s worth.

Don’t want to trade it if it’s worth selling privately instead.

She’s been asked by people in the past would she sell it and she’d no interest in doing so at the time but will probably get something newer next year.

So yeah approx how much anyone?

    Thanks,
    Eoin

You won't get an approx as you haven't given what the condition of the car is. NCT , etc. 125k miles for a 20 year old car is average. If it has been serviced timing belt circa 650 to 1000.

Kind of depends on demand for it,
If someone has a project in mind they might pay a good bit.. But try looking on done deal...

Apologies didn’t thing of those things. Let’s say it’ll have a fresh nct and is in good condition. She’s owned it since new. Regularly serviced. The timing belt was done at the relevant points.

    Thanks for the approximation.

    What colour is it?

Is the bodywork in good condition?

    Is it 3dr or 5dr?

5 door, in good nick. Been waxed at times through its life as it’s red. Comes out nice to be fair.

That said it’s a few years old to be fair so it’s not perfect.

Never been crashed or anything like that though thankfully.

Anything around the €500 mark would be a solid enough price I'd be thinking.

Most of them are for sale (privately, in fairly good condition) for €650 or so, and selling for €500/550. They are going up in value , but very slowly. In 12 months time you could possibly add €150/200 to the asking price.

A limited enough market for them really. A few Guys who would buy one for Autotesting, etc. Another few who reckon they're a Jap classic.
At the end of the day, the ridiculous 15 year-old Insurance issue has really killed off the demand for probably one of the most reliable small Hatchbacks.

It has been stupidly reliable to be fair. Not sure about a jap classic though. Nice nippy small hatch all the same.
