Smart thermostat

Hi, ok I installed a smart thermostat to replace analogue sunvic thermostat. Problem I have is when I turn power off the heating pump gets switched off. On the sunvic thermostat to reset it you turn the knob to 0 then to 20 and the pump power resets and comes back on. Problem I can't do this on smart thermostat. Any ideas…
