Tyre valves

    Has anyone else had issues with tyre valves sticking open? I have noticed over recent years that when you get new tyres, the valves seem to not function properly. I mentioned this to a friend whos a fitter and he said they are cheap valves, sourced from Turkey.he suggested that i squirt some oil into the valve before using it, but i find thats only occassionaly successful. On one ocasssion, the tyre subsequently went completely flat, altho not punctured . Does anyone know where to source good valves

    I get valves replaced (had it done twice in 20 years) by some kwikfit or similar for a euro.

    Any tyre supplier worth the name should replace the valves when a tyre is replaced, unless the tyre is being replaced because of damage, and even then, unless they fitted it, they will more likely replace it.

    Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

    oh they replace the valves when i got new tyres, but my point was that the new valves arnt a patch on the older ones. They dont seem to work correctly, in that, when you apply the connection it pushes the center of the valve in, but when you remove it, the center mechanism doesnt close correctly, therefore allowing the tyre to deflate
