    Hi,

I bought an universal electric gate remote in order to have a spare remote in case the original ones stops working.

I managed to successully copy the signal from the original remote to the clone as per the instructions provided, however when I tried to use the clone to open the gates it didn't work.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue?

My original remote is exactly like this one:

Could it be that my original remote (as seen above) is a rolling code one and therefore the clone doesn't work even if it successfully clones the signal?

Don't know much about this other than what I did.

I originally had to pair the remote which came with the motor. There is a LED display with control buttons. There was a sequence to go through.

Lost the fob so went through the same procedure again with a new one(a different make).
Had to Google the sequence again as I forgot it.Worked fine since.

Take off the cover of the motor and see what's in there.

I'm also trying to use it with a FAAC system.

Maybe all remotes need to be added to the FAAC system in order to work, even if they successfully copied the code?

This could well be it. The cloneable remotes only tend to work for work for fixed codes. I had a Faac control board with rolling code and even with a faac remote I had problems programming it.
In the end I got the service guy to do it for me at a later date when I had intercom issues. I think you need access to the control board to properly program a new remote. Well that's what he did anyway.
