How sensitive/thick skinned are you?

When I was younger I was fairly sensitive about comments people would make but I sort of grew out of it.
I suppose I got good at dealing with criticism which was correct and dealing with it and knowing when to leave comments go in one ear and out the other.
I wouldn't be one for crying during TV or at social media posts.
I'd be good enough dealing with stressful and upsetting situations. I suppose I'd see myself being good and keeping things a float at times when others would need help.

I've been called a snowflake on here but I've also been called a Nazi. Hard to tell.

I'm going to put this to the test.

Two things snowflakes and Nazi's have in common is that they want everybody to think like they do and they make a lot of noise about it.

It's important to be able to separate critics who give you earfulls for your own good and those who mean to damage you, the latter often pose as guides

There's a lot of common ground in there, to be honest.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I think I'm somewhere in the middle. I used to be pretty thin skinned, I had low self confidence from an awful upbringing, when someone would say something bad it would just reinforce in my mind what I was brought up to believe about myself.

I now run my own business and with that have quite a large social media presence, running my own business has given me the self confidence I was lacking in. Having to be present on social media and take the crappy dms/comments/emails that can come my way has kind of hardened me to criticism. I care though if someone I care about has something negative to say because I try really hard to be a good wife/mother/friend.

And yet still we can get pulled this way and that which is why it’s essential to remain cool.

Cool being of course a temperament. Its imperative to retain a cool, can’t have people losing the head and jacking up the heart rate  I swear those soap operas are poison.

Depends on if I've eaten and the previous few days. If I've taken a knock to confidence in my own mind then external criticism hits harder, if I'm happy with recent events overall then criticism doesn't bother me.

Think of it like an egg I suppose, hard to a point then crack. I have anxiety/depression and it all moves in line.

On a rating of 1 to 10 how offended were you?

Depends on the criticism or comment. No real issue if it is fair, warranted and accurate.

If it is dog plop then that's a different matter.

Being from Wales I've had it all in canteen at work on a daily basis.

    English Bastard
    Piss off back to England
    English Prick
Have you been back to England lately
Your queen over there in England.
With brexit will you have to go back to England.

Where did they hide you on boat when they smuggled you in from England.

Poor Irish children with an English father. The shame.

    Bloody English immigrant.

Shouldnt be allowed that lovely irish girl married to an English bastard.

    I could go on .......

I suppose I could report them for sexual harassment.

Don't think such a thing really exists, if you're in a good mood you can shrug things off and less so if not, I do think though an extrovert with a loud voice gets perceived as 'thick skinned'.

I don't think about you at all.

think I never had much of a sensitive skin: I've always been the one wanting to be in charge; guess there are moments when I get annoyed at ppl questioning my authority, or taking my time for granted; but usually what I do in those moments depends on the result I want to get out of it long term.

I'd like to think I'm fairly thick skinned, but I don't know how to handle criticism, at all.
I usually just reflect it back on myself, or reinforce it, like: 'you think thats bad? I've often done worse...'
