Microphone has failed on Wileyfox Swift so have no phone at the moment.

My price range for phones in the past has been around €2-300.

Any recommendation for around that price with quick delivery? Probably Amazon UK?

    I’d go for this.

The Moto range are good. Think the G7 is the current one.

Just check that you're getting what you want, NFC etc. Might not be on all models.

I had a Wileyfox, good phone. Had to sell it because work would not allow me to use it for work email because our security software deemed it as jailbroken rom - which obviously it wasn't - muppets
Then I got a Huawei P20 prov last year - best phone I've ever owned - but am now selling it because work disabled email because it's a Huawei - fecking muppets, fecking trump
So am now looking at xiaomi 9t pro as a replacement - although it's over your budget ~ €350

Which leads me to my actual recommendation Xiaomi Mi 9T ~ €270 from eglobalcentral or £285 GBP from amazon - the reviews for the 9t and 9t pro are excellent

Have you a Moto? Was leaning towards this but a reviewer on Amazon says the micro usb port is not standard - so limited to their proprietary charger. Is that true?

What's the situation with the type C port on the G7? For fast charging would I need a type C plug or would a C cable and a standard plug do?

I only have the G5 and that's micro usb.

Wife has the G6 and it uses usb c, which is the newer standard. Maybe that's what the reviewer meant?

Bought a cable when we were in Ikea so she can charge in work. No problems with it.

No. Be wary Amazon reviews often they are from the wrong product, or they don't know what they are about.

Got the G7, mostly because I was in a hurry and Argos had it!

Just wondering again about fast charging and type c connection. Is it just the type c cable I need that I can connect to any old plug or do I need a different plug as well?

Edit - see some cables do fast charging and some don't, so there's that to consider at least.

    There are different standards...

    https://usbcurrent.com/fast-chargers-motorola-phones/

Basically the charger and phone are intelligent and talk to each other, in a different language/standard be that fast charging, quick charging or turbo charging.

You can measure different chargers and cables using an app like ampere. If you are getting 3amps then you are getting full speed.

    Perfect, thanks.

Was it just the "G7"? The G7 play is the cheaper one and lacking some features.

Went for the Power for the extra battery capacity.

I think some models of the Power don't have NFC.

It's weird how they have so many different specs.

I have a G7 Power, lesser model but does have the USB C and Turbo charging. I don't use a turbo charger but I do use QuickCharge 3.0 with an Aukey Charger, its gets just under 3A with a good cable.

With cables that have been used a lot, sometimes they don't work as well as when new. (the kids abuse them). So every so often I do a clear out of the cables that no longer charge that well, and order new ones.

Noticed that, I was ok without NFC.

Might go with the Motorola original:

The 1m cable's too short for me, though. Need around 2m. Would you have a link to the cables you use?
