Motor replacement on shower

Hi I have a Triton Aspirante pumped shower that runs off the hot and cold feed. I need to replace the motor. Does anyone know if I disconnect the motor unit will I need to have the water disconnected, the problem is I will need to drain the tank as there are no valves in the system .
