VRT exemption possible?

    Hi All,

I have recently been offered a New Job close the border between northern Ireland and Ireland, If I take it I plan to move to northern Ireland and live there for the duration of the Job could be up to 3 years.

I plan on also using this opportunity to buy a car in the UK and maybe get a VRT exemption when I eventually decide to come back south.

So what I am wondering is, if I live in the north with an address there and fuel receipts from up there for the period of time I am there and have bills tenant agreements etc etc etc

When I finish the job there and want to move back down to Dublin would I be VRT Exempt ?

I know brexit changes everything but under the current rules if I live in the north and work in the south can I still claim VRT Exemption ?

    Thanks in Advance
