    Hey all,

I got an Zgemma H7S recently, enjoying playing around with it and getting it matched to my needs. One of the things I was hoping to replicate from my days of Sky was the ability to remote record. It got me wondering if it's possible to remote into the box over the internet. Initial searches seem to indicate that (a) it is possible, but (b) it's not recommended due to security and stability issues.

I am wondering what people here think? Does anyone have something set up that would work? My aims are (in priority order):
    1. Remote record
    2. View recordings
    3. View live TV
If I could accomplish just point 1 I'd be happy, points 2 and 3 are just bonuses.

    Cheers!

It can be done by setting up a noip account or similar. Be careful with security though. You are opening up your home network to outsiders. There are many servers actively scanning for open ports to infiltrate. Others here would know more of the techie details.
I know of one guy who watching TV when the file browser opened on his sat box and went directly to the keys folder to pinch his passwords.

I tried it a few years back but Eir actively block any open ports on their routers meaning I would have needed a new router to bypass Eir's security.
