The Welshman will be assisted by France's Pascal Guazere and Australia’s Angus Gardner, with Graham Hughes of England named as the TMO.

I'm happy enough with him. Angus Gardner on the other hand...

So now that Nigel is reffing do we play Beirne? He will let both teams have a good go at the breakdown.

Surely it's never a good idea, in any context, to go with Peyper?

Is that because Nigel Owen's is gay and the Irish rugby team has men on it and he'll think they are in love with him?

    Classic fryup!!

My problem with Owens is that in the last two years he's veered too far into ignoring things in favour of "letting the game flow". Doesn't suit us... With someone like Barnes, our pressure on teams results in penalties, with Nigel we're less likely to be rewarded. But by far not the worst ref we could have got.
