Base price is for Rs I think, deductions for grades below that, Os and Ps and bonuses for Es and Us

J we can only see the weights and grades you got, can't see the price per kg

Edit: sorry see more now than the first pic. What does QPS mean? I think it's minus 6 cent per kg for each increment below R=3. Is the bottom one minus 24 cents because it is an O-?

    Ok
    Take the first animal QPS -18 QAS 20 = base + 2cents is €3.47

Difference in weight is the 2% deduction for hot to cold weight.

QPS is Quality Payment scheme, is the payments based on the grading grid......base price is €3.45/kg for R grade, O= price is base price minus18c and O+ price is base price minus 12c

3 increments down from the base price of 3.45, gives you minus 18, add on 20 cents quality bonus gives you a price of 3.45 (20-18) plus 2 cents, €3.47

It's all how you look at it. From what l can see, you did the best job you could with the cattle you had. Isn't that all any of us can do? You had plenty of cover on them and decent weight for their carcass grading.

They were always going to take a hammering on the grid. Perhaps these type cattle are best sold for flat price off grid (l don't know if that was an option, especially the way things are at the mo?) If base price was 30-35c higher it would make a huge difference. And if my Aunt had balls says you, she'd be my uncle.

You won on the new Q payments that was achieved at the talks.

Why are E grades not shown on the grid picture?

Have tried for flat pricing , factories shoot it down. It’s true, the damn price drop is a killer. At least they got no meal in their lifetime just grass and silage. Low cost. Would get more probably feeding nuts, but that’s another debate!

Not sure if you would have those were great FS and weights for cattle off grass only. What breed were they, when did you buy them in and at what weight and cost.
