Best laptop in the €500 - €600 range

Im looking to get anew laptop and I need it pretty quickly as my old one just bit the dust.

These are the specs of my current laptop:

Manufacturer: Asus

Model: X555L

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) I5 - 5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20GHz

RAM: 8.00GB

System Type: 64 bit operating system, x64 based processor

I use the laptop for general browsing, watching movies, downloading, watching youtube and doing some work on Microsoft Word, Excel etc...

I was looking at this deal:

that's an old i7 - worse than a current i3 and is an ugly plastic design and build of a machine

is better imo. all metal, thin-bezel modern design, more capable cpu. touch-screen capability.

the dell is a bit of a plastic clunker also but does have a decent cpu.

the lenovo is a nicer quality metal construction and lighter. and the cpu in it is more than plenty powerful for your uses.

the convertible design is also much better for watching media as you fold it to have the screen facing you.

but tbh it's still a great option.

also has a bigger ssd storage drive.

v good deal.

8gb ram, 4-core cpu, full hd screen. metal build.

The touch screen isn't something im concerned with anyway tbh.

You can't install any third party applications so your restricted to Windows store to download software and applications so I'd go with previous one as it has full windows 10

From my reading you can opt out of S mode...

yes you can get full win 10 - not an issue.

bad. bad old cpu. bad battery life. avoid for that price

literally have not seen a decent deal in HN in about 5 years.

pick one of the ones mentioned here in currys / pcworld instead.

Would you think of going second hand for better value?

I just worry a bit that you could end up buying a stolen unit if you go through adverts or donedeal. Is this a serious risk?
