Nissan NV400, beeping with the door open light on

The problem is the side door. Constant beeping with the door open light on. It’s slowly driving me demented. Nissan themselves can’t fix it and won’t cut the wire as they say it interferes with central locking. I believe this is a common fault with this range of vans. Has anyone come across a solution for this?

I understand Nissan won't cut any wires as it might cause something else to happen and then they would be at fault.

Is the van still under warranty?

Why would they cut the wire - surely they should replace the door lock module if they cannot repair it?

You would think so. They’ve tried all that. It works for days maybe. I’ve heard a few fellow tradesmen complain about similar, and online too. Seems to be a major flaw

Tbh, if car is within warranty with a known fault I'd just keep complaining until Nissan does something about it.

Is it possible to disconnect something to stop the beeping that won't void the warranty?

Is there a little button in the door jamb that gets pushed when the door closes.

Sometimes theres a little threded ring that can move it in or out so it gets pushed right. You could just pull the switch out and jump the wires together so it will seem to the car that the door is just always closed.

There’s 4 push buttons. And I tried that

This sounds very similar to a problem I had with 4 Renault Masters. 3 were repaired under warranty. The other however could never be repaired. No matter who looked and fettled & poked at it, main dealer or excellent indie. No reason was ever found as to why it kept beeping. It was 4 years old with small mileage and no one would drive it. It couldn't be locked and all that could be done was to mute the beeping by damaging the unit. Not much help but I feel your pain.
