    Hi all,

Hope this is the correct place to post my question.

Japanese friend is studying in Dublin on an Irish visa that expires in December.

Her course ends just before the visa expires.

She wishes to then travel up to NI and spend a week or so there before traveling on to England for a few weeks. She would be in NI after the Irish visa expires.

Am I right in saying she needs to apply in Ireland for a UK standard visitor visa? I'm thinking this would allow her to travel from ROI to NI then on to England.

    www gov uk/standard-visitor-visa

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
