    Hi All

I have a query if this can be written off against rental income.

In 2018 house was let out for 8 months until August.

Then it was vacant for the rest of the year

The chimney flue had to be replaced in December 2018.

Can this be still but through as a repair even though house was not occupied at the time.

    Thanks in advance

You're able to claim the repairs as an expense provided that the property was vacant between vacancies. If there were no more vacancies after the repairs were done, or you yourself lived in the property at the time, the expense is not allowed.
