So I have cattle to sell at the mart but the 12 month TB test will expire in a couple of weeks.
Am I as well to get them tested or will selling them as they are have an impact on their price.
They are heavy enough so will probably be bought for by someone with the factory in mind.

    Any thoughts on this???
The current 12 month test expires on Nov 3rd.
Next week would be the last chance to sell before it expires..

Seeing as you've held on this long I think you'd be as well to test them and sell them afterwards. Of course there's always the risk of being locked up with tb but unless you're already doubtful about the results then I wouldn't be that concerned. It's an extra cost and hassle but it may also attract extra potential customers and help the sale price. I don't know much about the rules regarding how long bought in stock can be out of test before it becomes a problem but I believe it works on a percentage basis of your herd. If the buyer has feedlot status and intends to factory them it may not matter but a farmer might have different requirements.

TB is very prominent in some areas.
A fresh test is much more attractive than one more than 11 months old.

Sell away waste of time and money testing them if they near killing they'll only be looking at weight and price.......

I would be in a similar situation to the OP except for I would be selling weanlings,

would the TB test effect sale price say for example if I was to sell weanlings in February 2020 and the weanlings were last tested in April 2019?

Or would one be better off arranging for a private test ?
