    Hi folks,
Just wondering if anybidu else has noticed thatour approach to dealing with mental health and suicide is negative or based on fear.

I mean , if u just ask urself, how many people u know that died because road accident compare to no of people died because of suicide? It probably 3 times more than road deaths.

We all know, actuall no of suicide is alot more than official data. Probably some of riad deaths are the result of mental health.

But the way we deal with road accidents is different and the resources set aside to deal with it is alot more. At the end, life lost is a life list and its impact are probably alot more in suicide than a road death.

We try to hide suicide like peigon/cat approach. If u know 2/3 people in ur close circle of people, then the people who r facing mental health is alot more. Which means alot of us hv been able to deal with it successfully or may be not, which means we have to put more resources to it. There should be efforts to end taboos around mental health and deal with it rationally.

The positive approach might result in more awareness of successful ways/ approach to dealing with it rather than fear of other people getting idea of suicide to desl with it.

As a person living with incurable illness at very young age ( the ods of being diagnosed at my age are less than winning lotto). As part of this illness, depression effects 50% of patients. But i hv able to deal with it and hv learnt techniques to fights back.

Personal Issues isn't really the place for this thread I'm afraid, as it's more of a general discussion rather than a specific problem you're having trouble with. It might be more appropriate to Current Affairs/IMHO?

I'm afraid I have to lock this thread.
