Just looking for opinion. I today agreed on a deal for a new car from a main dealer. €16k car. It’s €11k finance and €5k trade in.
I’m collecting the new car Saturday and dropping of my old for trade in.
I’ve now heard a knocking sound in my current car and wondering when I turn up to sign the final paperwork will they try change the deal if they hear the sound? The finance deal is through the dealer too. I had finance arrange but they promised a better deal and it was so I decided to go with them.

I’ve heard a knocking sound in my current car and think it’s the bushes but I’m no mechanic. The dealer didn’t test drive my car before we agreed the deal. Anyway should I have said something or are they the experts and should have checked? I’m not even sure if there is an actual issue with the bushes.

They won't care. It's calculated in.

Deal done, all this is accounted for in the price they gave you for yours, every x amount they take in will have x amount of issues.

I reckon you knew about this before the deal :) good news for you though is they wont care.

If you did not have a trade in, you'd probably get the car for about €14,000-€14,500

The dealer is well covered for any issues like that - and remember, it won't cost them that much to fix.

If they try to change the deal, just say you'd prefer to look elsewhere.

Remember, it's October - getting close to end of the year and dealer will also get small commission on the finance

They won't care. Just drop it off and pick up your new car. They have charged you for this repair and a few other anyway.
It will likely be bundled off to the trade anyway.
The fact that they didn't drive it would suggest they were not pushing themselves too tight on the deal.

Just remember, if you go back with your new car complaining of a suspension knock at any point, they may well say -we are even now...... only joking.

When I dropped my car it had stopped starting day before. Probably battery. Told them they would need to sort it and collected new one.
