I'm looking to buy an electric single-speed bicycle, and have found searching over the internet models like 'Luna fixed stealth' (https://lunacycle.com/luna-fixed-stealth-ebike/) or propella which would perfectly fit both my requirements and my budget, but couldn't find any reseller in Ireland.

Does anybody knows a reseller for a e-bike like that one, or a similar one?
    My requirements are simple:
    -single speed
-tires as thick as possible (can't risk punctures)
-with mudguards or at least the possibility to install them
    -weight below 20kg
    - battery not particular requirements, but the more the better

Budget possibly below 2000, 2500 euro at most.

DLB had one of those Luna bikes (the Banana or something very similar) in the shop when I was there a few weeks ago. Maybe give them a shout.

Gtech do one and Halfords are a reseller.

    https://www.halfords.ie/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes?brand=Gtech&initMin=100&initMax=2650
    https://www.gtech.co.uk/ebikes.html
    https://www.cyclerepublic.com/brands/gtech?p=2

I was thinking of one as its belt drive and a low maintenance bike.
Only problem for me is only comes in 20" (mens) and I can't try one anywhere.
Halfords never have it in stock they get them to order.
20" would be on the large size for me.

Anybody knows if there are dealers for the E-glide brand?
I've found this one, which looks interesting:
    https://e-glidebike.com/index.php/bikes/e-glide-ss-electric-bike

On adverts I see several e-glide folding bicycles, so there must be a shop selling them in Ireland.

Just to follow up on your now closed other thread re buying one of these through the cycle to work scheme.
You cannot purchase an e-bike on the cycle to work scheme that will not cut electric power to the motor at 25kph. These are classified as motor propelled vehicles, and are not bicycles (even if they look like one) and you buy one in a cycle shop.

I can confirm from personal experience this isn't true.

Perhaps he meant that you cannot 'legally' buy one on the BTW scheme.

Please do. Above 25kph they must cut out. Hence the term pedelectric.
FYI the RTA also classified them as MPV. Wishbone Ash is indeed correct. An MPV is not a bicycle. You may not legally purchase one on the Cycle To Work scheme.

you have committed tax fraud so.
as per the other closed thread, if the OP wants advice on buying a non-reg pedelec, i suspect the electric vehicles forum is the place to go.

and in case you are unaware of the law, any pedelec which does not cut assistance at 25km/h is legally classed as an MPV, and you are not allowed use them on public roads without licence, insurance, and a helmet.

The throttle is also an issue as is a 700W motor.

The number of non-legal MPV-BSO on the roads is just growing. Lots of gig economy delivery people on them. I seen a fat-bike types absolutely hoofing it on O'Connell St. 40kph easy with a cadence of Zero rpm!

I was asked was I eligible by the shop selling the bicycle, the quote for the bicycle clearly indicated the make and model I was purchasing, the voucher was issued and redeemed by the bicycle shop and the monies are being removed from my salary.

If I am a tax fraud, so be it.

    Which bicycle did you buy?

The other issue is being illegal on the road.
The shops selling these don't care.

I wish they'd sort it out though, city needs more transport choices.

i'm closing this thread too; if you want to buy a vehicle that is technically an MPV, as mentioned, it might be worth asking on the electric vehicles forum.
    for the record:
it's not illegal for a bike shop to sell you a MPV, from either a traffic law compliance viewpoint, or from a tax viewpoint (if buying on the BTW scheme). in either case, the legal onus is on you to obey the law, not them.
