Climate change and the brontosaurus in the lift

Climate change is real and we are causing it. If the Earth's population continues to grow as fast as it is doing, no CO2 reduction measures will come close to stopping CC. So we need to reduce the amount of people on the planet to even come close to controlling the issue.

That said though, the Earth doesn't care about climate change. This a temperature blip in comparison to what the planet has experienced for billions of years. So the temp goes up, the human race gets knocked back and on spins the good Earth. We ain't a permanent fixture.

So our choices are... reduce the population or take the brunt of CC and have the population decimated in the long run anyway.

Broad as it is long, really.

    Opinions?

    The high co2 is excellent

The Earth is much much greener* now than it was say 20 years ago

*( greenery-wise rather than f**kwits with all the noise and puss on them & no answers)

"The greening represents an increase in leaves on plants and trees equivalent in area to two times the continental United States."

Yes. It is the elephant in the room. Do we kill people, stop making new ones or wait until climate change kills them.

The population of the EU countries is on the way down. So we will be OK.

We are just part of the earths growth. The human phase. You can’t fight it.

It's unlikely that the climate will be the same everywhere.

We are causing climate change? Just us? not the Earth itself, with it's plentiful volcanoes, spewing all sorts of **** into the atmosphere, or the thousands of deep sea vents that warm the seas without any help from us? Or places like the toxic geysers in Yellowstone Park? Or the Sun, revving up and down the temperature scales like a motorbike, anytime it feels like it? I'll give you a C with a "must do better" note in your homework jotter...

Call me a simple chap but I don't understand how the polar ice caps melting will increase sea levels, if I have 2 ice cubes in my JD and Coke and let them melt the depth of my drink is exactly the same as when I dropped the frozen ice in to it.

It's not like we're the first species we'll have driven to distinction. There is a rather amusing irony to it.

If it happens life will carry out in other forms.
