What did it mean

This happened a few years ago and it has me wondering. I was in college and I was sitting up on a bench at the back of the room and I had my two hands, palm down on the desk on either side of me. A girl that was in the class and I was friendly with sat beside me and placed her hand on top of mine and left it there for about half a minute. We weren't having a conservation at the time, just observing what was going on in the room.
Did it mean anything or not. As I said it happened a few years ago and just has me wondering
