Extension advice Block vs. cabin

    Hi,
Looking for advise on an extension to existing bedroom at rear of home to add on a kitchen/living area, small office and bathroom (area to be used as separate granny flat to existing house).
Have seen some 25m2 cabins which may be suitable (believe planning is not required for this size?)
Has anyone had the experience of doing something similar? For the log cabin route some companies give an entire turn key package from drawings to electrics, insulation, bathtoom, kitchen etc. whereas the block build would require organising all of this separately.
Would anyone have an idea of a cost for a 25m2 block build and the pros and cons of this?
    Thanks in advance.

Planning is required for a granny flat.

A log cabin ‘shed’ may not need planning.

I have not seen a habitable log cabin that complies with current building regulations.

You have not given enough info to estimate the cost. The rooms you’ve described may mean an increase of circulation space, which may mean you’ll struggle to comfortable fit it in 25m2. people here are talking about €2k/m2 in Dublin
